Vesecamy in Vietnam

As an expat here for 9 months in my 40s, I was set on never having another child. That changed quiet fast when I met my wife, she immediately became pregnant when I arrived. I can’t say I was to happy but as a responsible adult I accepted it and supported her in this.

At about 8 months into the pregnancy, we knew the baby was coming and I knew we couldn’t have intercourse (make love) for at least 6 weeks after the baby, so I decided then that it’s a great time for a vesecamy.

In Vietnam you have a lot of in the ally type of clinics. These are doctors who provide services for a small fee in the back of their house. What an experience this was, I thought for a 0? What a deal! I arrived, waved at the gecko in the front doorway (they’re everywhere) and proceeded behind a curtain. There were 2 other student doctors there and 1 main doctor. The doctor was surprised by my size (not sure what we meant by that) and he said I was the first westerner he has worked on.

The procedure itself went quick. It was painful at first. This made me very uncomfortable as they can see if they tried. When it was over he went to his medicine cabinet and provided antibiotics.

What to know:

The healing time isn’t so quick. It took about 1.5 months for the pain in my testicles to go away. In fact I was so concerned I had an ultrasound performed at the local hospital in a room full of patients next to me behind a curtain that could see my balls on the screen. Oh this is another story. Let’s continue. I was told everything was fine, it’s just healing.

Self dissolving stiches. The stiches fell out in about 7 weeks. I did get a slight infection but proceeded with the antibiotics. It cleared up. The great news is a supportive wife will check on your balls daily. Haha.

It takes 3 months or 20 to 35 ejaculations to get rid of the sperm. This is the fun part. 😅

esecamies aren’t really a well known procedure in Vietnam amongst it’s people. In fact many have no idea what it is. Some asked after learning why I would do that! Okay only the men said this. The women here would scowl at their husbands and say, “because western men care about their wife!” so let me give you the insight into why you should consider a vesecamy and the women here defended my decision.

  • You don’t want a child or mere children being the most obvious.
  • To protect the woman’s health. Why make your wife take contraception drugs full of hormones? This is actually the Korean mindset of men, I learned it from an ex Korean girlfriend and fully agreed with this idea. Korea, you did something right, and kimchi of course.
    • Things to also consider:

Go to the international hospital if you want this procedure done in a more modern setting and not in the back of a doctors house. It’s low risk. In Vietnam it’s always cheaper to go to a doctor’s house than to the hospital or clinic.

In the United States I was quoted 00 to 00 for this procedure. However, they have incision less vesecamies which are a huge benefit. For 0, I was sold. I’m also not the brightest person, so the back on an ally procedure was more humerous to me than anything else. Yes, they provide clean and sealed medical instruments and cleanliness as a normal clinic.

No paperwork. I didn’t sign a single document. I don’t know if this is to protect the doctors running a clinic out of their house but I didn’t mind. I don’t like paperwork.

Lack of privacy. If you demand privacy then stick to the international hospitals or be prepared for people to see you naked or hear your business. Whether in a local hospital, clinic or a doctors house, they don’t take patient privacy seriously here. At the local hospital I must have shut the door to prevent my wife from being seen naked or breastfeeding 50 times. The hospital staff rarely close the door behind them and rarely pull the curtains. Its actually irritating. I’ll write another story on this one.

So if you want cheap quality healthcare come to Vietnam. Make a list of what you want done and get er’ done. It’s cheaper than Mexico including dental.

I hope you enjoyed my story.
